So, way back on Saturday, 6th Oct, me and the 'Buffet Queue Kid' were back at the Harbourside in Bristle. This time it was Leg 1 of the APAT Regional Championship, a freezeout with 3000 chips and a 30 min clock... a pretty good structure for a £20 tournament, especially as there is no reg fee. Added to that, it is all dealer dealt and a free buffet (oh dear!)... just about reason enough for driving nearly 70 miles for an 80 seat (max), £20 tourney.
This turned out to be a day of mixed fotunes for the Withey (inc. Carterton) Mob... unforunately the 'BQ Kid' made the BQ in good time, while yours truly went on to take 3rd place (of the 61 entries), £190 and an APAT bronze medal as well as the option to buy-in to the English Amateur Championships (more on this later). Rich did make the final table of their regular Saturday night £10 freezeout... only to go out in 10th place and out of the money. But at least it was a few hours poker for his money.
To be continued....
